We have had a set of 4 lambs born to the one ewe! This is so rare, certainly the first time for us! She was right near the gate to our sheep yards, with no other ewes close by – so I’m sure they are all hers. She is happily letting them all drink too, although they are obviously having to take turns as she only has the two teats.
Because she was close to the yards, I gently pushed her through so that I can keep an eye on her. They are tiny!

They were born yesterday, and this morning they all seemed to be going okay. My dilemma is – do I let her try and raise all four or do I take one or two away? I know Jasmine is dead keen for me to bring at least one up to the house – so she can care for it! I do feel that if I let her go back to the mob, she will have trouble keeping track of all four. Perhaps I could bring her into a small paddock near the house, so we can keep a closer eye of the 5 of them…
